Hallie + Michael’s wedding near Carmel, CA was one of the dreamiest ever. It was such an honor to document their love story through pictures! From getting ready at Bernardus Lodge to portraits at Holman Ranch, this wedding was absolutely perfect in every way.

I loved seeing both families come together! Guests came from all over the country, from different backgrounds and customs. Even so, they all blended together into one big, happy family.

Capturing the joys of these moments meant focusing one thing—documentary photography! This means being present to snap all of the funny and candid moments there was to be had! I stayed a little farther back from the couple in order to capture the big-picture moments.

Documentary-style photos make my heart sing. It’s so impactful to watch a couple’s story unfold through pictures, so I was thrilled when Hallie + Michael said they were up for it!

These lovebirds were so incredibly easy to work with. They were exploding with happiness and excitement, and it was amazing to see their vision unfold for their special day.

For an extra measure of romance, the couple decided to have their wedding at a private home off of 17 Mile Drive. It was such a gorgeous spot, especially since the couple had history there!

The owner of the house was Hallie’s dad’s friend. He let them borrow it since other venues weren’t available. The house was pretty empty still, so the ladies used suitcases as furniture as they celebrated the wedding with champagne.

Hallie actually designed the reception table layout herself! Everything had her hand in it, from the flowers to the placement cards. So much preparation went into this day, and it definitely paid off.

We went to the Holman Ranch for portraits. This spot was so gorgeous! We were only able to book the location for an hour, so we hurried through portraits to get all the shots we wanted before time ran out.
