Weddings are my favorite event to photograph! There’s so much room for creativity and story-telling. Allison + Bobby’s wedding was no different! Set in gorgeous Carmel Valley, this wedding was an absolute show-stopper.

Getting to know Allison and Bobby throughout the process was so much fun! She’s a lawyer, and he’s an engineer for NASA!! These two are definitely going places. Hardworking and intelligent, this pair really knew how to have a good time. The wedding was small and simple, but they made sure their guests were well taken care of.

After Allison got ready, she had a first look with her dad, and then one with Bobby! Both were so full of emotion and excitement for the vows to come.

Allison’s mom passed away many years ago, but she commemorated her with a little photo of her on her bouquet. This was such a sweet and sentimental touch.

The vows were so heartwarming and sweet. It never fails to give me a thrill when a couple promises themselves to each other! Allison and Bobby were so ready for this huge step in their relationship.

At the reception, they busted out a giant bottle of champagne! They shook it up, which made the cork very difficult to come off. After the whole wedding party struggled for about 10-15 minutes, they realized they’d broken it halfways.

When the bottle was finally open, they went around and shared it with others. We got so many amazing shots of the bride + groom together with their guests! Smiles were big, bright, and genuine.

I made sure to take a moment and snap some detail shots of the decorations. The pool decorations were so much fun! They actually had a relative scuba dive in the pool to set weights underneath the arrangements. This looked so cool, especially at night!

And the dancing was out of this world! I love to use a slow shutter speed and bright flashes to show movement. This technique adds so much dynamic fun! Everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest.
